We are transforming how youth consumes media content!
Amid information overload, it is crucial to educate youth about consuming media content sensibly. For this, educational spaces need to be transformed from mere knowledge warehouses to spaces that enable critical thinking.

Need for Media Literacy
*(Usage patterns of school kids in classes 6 to 12 across different media)
9 in 10
Use mobile phones for up to four hours every day
8 in 10
Use a computer/laptop for up to four hours every day
7 in 10
Watch television for an average of two hours every
7 in 10
Read books for an average of two hours every day
This shows the kind of influence various media have on school-going children every day. With the content overload on the internet today, it is a no-brainer that children need to be guided to consume media content responsibly.
“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn. .”

-Alvin Toffler,
American Writer & Futurist
But why
Unlearn & Relearn?
YOUNG MUSICIAN
There once was a musician…a gentle, naive guy. He specialised in traditional percussion and woodwind instruments.
He also had a company in Goa that specialised in multi-dimensional psychedelic art installations and visual landscapes for dance floors at party events.A true artist at heart, you’d think, right?
But that’s not what won him accolades; there was more to him than just being a musician.

It was his love for nature that took him to different parts of the country, and to different countries too. In fact, he was also a fantastic chef, which even got him an invite all the way from Russia to cook Indian cuisine at a famous music festival.
Where is he now?
One fine day, he and his friend went to their hometown – Assam – for a vacation.
The 29-year-old Nilotpal Das – the musician – and his friend Abhijeet Nath, a businessman.
Sadly, they never came back!
Nilotpal Das and Abhijeet were gruesomely attacked and killed by a mob after they were mistaken for child kidnappers in Assam’s Karbi Anglong in June 2018.

The story shows media literacy now impacts more than just media professionals and can well mean the difference between even life and death.
Media consumers could be left handicapped against a host of problems with a lack of media literacy, such as:
Injustice, Prejudice, Stereotypes
Poor Critical Thinking
Misinformation
Manipulation, Propaganda
Lopsided Democracy
Our Mission
Building a media-literate world!
We believe change needs to be brought in at a grass-root level.
We imagine a society where citizens are brought up with basic etiquette around using various media, right from their childhood.
Imagine a society that knows how to consume media content most sensibly with little room for polarisation and instead promotes a
plural and broad view of how the world functions.
